Centers of Excellence (CoE) in Public Health Informatics
The Centers of Excellence (CoE) in Public Health Informatics was established to support a broadly based research program to share knowledge and common resources with a few selected research partners. The program was initiated by a funding opportunity announcement that was released on February 9, 2009. The Centers support research that will develop, translate, and disseminate informatics knowledge and expertise to public health professionals that is essential to maximizing the potential of information systems to improve the health of the nation. The research supported should be innovative and supportive of programs linking recent advances in evidence-based public health intervention, systems development, information processes, and computer science to advance and improve the public's health.
